कार्तिकेय जी ने शिव जी को कहा कि पिता जी आपके कहने पर मैं इसे दांत दे तो दूंगा पर इसे हमेशा इसे धारण करना होगा क्यूंकि अगर इसने इसे धारण नहीं किया और इसे इधर उधर फेंककर घूमेगा तो फेंका हुआ दांत ही इसे भस्म कर देगा !

और कार्तिकेय जी ने दांत गणेश जी को दे दिया !

शिव जी ने दांत को धारण करने के लिए गणेश जी को मना लिया !
